League Operation Cooperative Charter
The League Operations Cooperative (LOC) comprises existing MLS members and external community leaders within the Cal North Youth Soccer Association.
This charter lays out the framework, format, logistics, expectations, and plan to develop a MLS NEXT - TIER 2
Standards
Cal North X2 platform is exclusively for existing MLS NEXT clubs to enhance the development pathway for their players in a platform that mirrors the standards, expectations and integrity of the highest level platform of soccer in North America. The founding member MLS NEXT clubs and the League Operations Cooperative (LOC) have come together to be nimble in the marketplace to create this platform. With the continuing evolution of the soccer landscape, it was important that Cal North became a facilitator to continue to grow the game with leaders in Northern California.
Cost and Responsibilities
The Cal North X2 program outlines specific costs and responsibilities for participating teams and their officials. Cal North's responsibilities include providing membership services, managing the platform fee, handling administration, scheduling, marketing, and insurance. Teams are responsible for acquiring fields, arranging referees, ensuring hydration and medical staffing, managing digital rosters and passes, setting up and tearing down equipment and branding, and providing hospitality for both home and away matches.
